The Fonz is an amazing jig and it has an action like no other jig I have used!
It is a long profile jig, but despite its size and weight, this is a very versatile jig. Even at 600g, I have used it with great success in water as shallow as 50m.
For a 600g jig it is effortless to use. It works best with long upsweeps of the rod to give it plenty of slack line to swim on the descent. It has a sliding fall action but still works well even in strong current situations. Give it some light tension on the drop and it will rocket down to the depths.
It has proved to be very effective on large Seriola species (Kingfish and Amberjack), but where it excels is in deep water on demersal fish. Time and time again in the 280m to 350m depth range, it has proved itself to be lethal at catching the highly prized Alfonsino and Imperado. It has also accounted for some jumbo Blueye Trevalla and Barcod.
If you were only going to buy one deep drop jig this would be it!
